Final Research Paper (writing assignment)
The final research paper should address an administrative
issue in policing, courts, corrections, or probation/parole.
Follow the required outline for the final research paper:
1. Introduction –
what is the theory or thesis and what is the importance of this topic?
2. Review of the
relevant literature of the topic.
3. What are the relevant issues and what is/are the logical,
evidence-based conclusions you can draw?
4. Recommendations for change?
The paper should contain a minimum of 2000 words (not
including the title page and reference page), one-inch margins, double-spaced
and composed using the Times New Roman 12-point format. The final paper should
include a minimum of 10 outside references/sources, in-text citations and be
written in APA 7th edition format.
This must be submitted as a Word document. Document

Introduction/Description of the Problem: The Introduction
includes relevant ideas presented in the course, Points you earned ideas from
the course. A description of the problem
is included; however is vague or is not supported by research, and a thoughtful
discussion of the problem.
Body/Description of Current Approaches to the Problem: Current
approaches to addressing the identified problem are identified and discussed in
detail, and are supported by the literature.
Conclusion/Novel Approaches to the Problem: Your conclusions
reflect what (content) you learned from your research and reflect depth of
thinking in your novel approaches to addressing the problem. Novel approaches are clearly identified and
discussed in detail such that the approach and application are easily
understood.
