Research Paper and Presentation
Overview
You will conduct research on a chosen topic, write an academic research paper.
Research Paper:
The research paper is to be approximately 1200 words.
You must utilize an appropriate documentation style, either MLA or APA, dependent on the topic of your research.
All sources must be cited in-text, throughout the body of your paper, as the correct documentation style dictates.
A correct bibliography must be included in your final paper.
The paper must be a formal research paper, following conventions established by the appropriate documentation style, MLA or APA. You should choose an insightful topic, something you know little about and/or something you really do want to research. Your paper will probably include some description, narration, comparison, analysis, and examples, all strategies we have worked on during the semester. In addition, your paper must use information from outside sources—research as a form of support for your topic.
Topic: Topic selection is your choice.
Sources: You must have at least SIX sources referenced and documented in your paper.
Your sources can be any type of source, but three of them must meet the following criteria:
One source must be from the Internet.
One source must be from a book or periodical from a library.
One source must be from a personal interview/survey you conduct.
.
Research Paper Submission for Evaluation:
Your completed research paper will be evaluated through a submission link via Turnitin (so no gpt copying).
Introduction and Writer’s Reflection (~500 words)
Include a personal introduction and reflection on the first page.
Creatively introduce your research paper, commenting on its contents. What piece is the best part and what is the worst? What do you like or dislike about the paper? Describe what you like or dislike about putting a research paper together. Establish a mood and tone for your research paper.
Also, explain and describe how you see yourself as a writer, including how you have grown as a writer and what you have learned about writing. Have your thoughts about writing changed from the beginning of the semester? Why or why not? What do you like or dislike about the process of writing? What is your favorite thing to write? Define yourself as a communicator. How successful are you?
This Introduction in both its content and style should give a reader insight into what kind of a writer/communicator you are. Be creative and be sure to accurately represent yourself and your work.
Links
Including links to other sites is what will make your course project Webpage interactive. All links need to relate to your research topic or to you as a writer. You may link to your online sources. You may include links to other helpful sites related to your topic. You may have more than THREE links if you choose.
(I’ll do this)
Pictures/Graphics
You must have some pictures and/or graphics on your Webpage that relate to you as a writer or to your research topic. Be sure to give credit to the sources of your graphics in a caption on the Webpage somewhere if you borrow them from another source. Feel free to use your own pictures/graphics. You may have more than TWO graphics if you want.
