This study examines water shortage in San Pascual, Batangas, Philippines through an implementation of a Hydro Phresh RWHS (rainwater harvesting system). This study is compatible with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) 11, 12, and 6. It contributes towards achieving SDG number 6: Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all; SDG number 11: Make cities inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable and finally SDG 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns. In this regard, the RWHS treats rainwater from different sources to improve water security within the community. The research evaluates rainfall sediment quality before filtering it through various materials to determine which one yields the best results. The aim is to achieve secure drinking water using an appropriate method for each household or group of houses at a minimal cost. This study aims to emphasize the importance of involving experts in the implementation of rainwater harvesting systems (RWHS) in San Pascual, San Antonio Batangas, during the period of SY 2023-2024. It highlights the challenges faced during installation and the application of cost-benefit analysis in ensuring the effectiveness of these systems. The study also underscores the interdisciplinary nature of managing rainwater quality and the importance of selecting appropriate filters that meet specific needs. By involving experts and considering these factors, the community can benefit from effective RWHS implementation and sustainable water management. This study sought to answer the following:

The purpose of this experimental research is to construct and evaluate the efficiency of a rainwater harvesting system integrated with filters, specifically focusing on filtering acid rainwater. The study utilizes quantitative research methodology, employing summary statistics, descriptive statistics, and other experimental techniques. The research involves purposive sampling, with the participation of engineers and water supply employees. Ethical considerations such as informed consent and confidentiality will be ensured throughout the research process. The study utilizes items such as PVC pipes, taps, pails, sandstone, gravel stones, carbon granules pebbles, and activated carbon to build the rainwater harvesting system. The quality of rainwater will be assessed using attributes such as color and acidity, with the use of questionnaires.
