April 22, 2024

·
Together with introduction and conclusion, the
paper must cover two sub-sections. sub-sections paper will cover:
a)
Role differentiation and role conflict in group
interactions
b)
social norms and conformity within groups
interactions
·
I will upload some of the references that must
be included in the paper, and you can add any other reference you find valuable
to the paper.
·
Papers should be between 10-15 pages in length
(not including references or cover)
·
References:  There is not a set
“number” of references I expect you to use.  Instead, I ask that
you A) cover your topic well and B) have enough information to fulfill the page
requirements.  A good rule of thumb is to have at least as many references
as page numbers (so a 10-page paper would have 10 or more references).
·
Use standard text font (times new roman,
Cambria, Calibri) size (10-12 pt), spacing (double) and margins (1 inch all
around)
·
Specify in the introduction what type
of paper you are doing: either on A) an interactionist process or B) a
specific topic or subject which can be examined through an interactionist lens.
***In this case I’m going for option B***
·
Draw connections between the work you are
reviewing in your paper and interactionist theoretical perspectives—in other
words, make sure you state how the findings of XXX are related to
interactionist principles or an interactionist understanding of the social
world, especially if the literature you are reviewing is not already grounded
in a symbolic interactionist perspective.
·
Papers should have an introduction that provides
a “road map” of what is to come:  what topics will be reviewed,
what will be covered.  Papers should also have a discussion/conclusion
that reviews what has been shown and offers additional insight from you on
the work reviewed: how are they connected, related, contradictory, useful, etc.
·
Make sure to cite your references properly
throughout the paper (both in the text and at the end of the paper in the
References section) using ASA style.  See the style guide I have provided
on D2L and double check for formatting issues. Be CAREFUL about citations and
exact quotes—DO NOT appropriate the words and phrases of others without
“putting them in quotes” and citing.
·
Write in your own words and avoid
excessive quoting— (no more than 4 or 5 quotes in the entire paper).
