As you read in the Pozgar text, ethics and law are closely
associated. It is very challenging to speak about one and not the other,
and often the line between the two can become blurred. I am certain
that each of us has a different perspective given our unique individual and
occupational backgrounds.
For this assignment you will also need to refer to the case you
selected for Module 3. For your Module 3 assignment, you discussed
licensure and liability, for this assignment you will discuss the resolution of
the case (remember, you are NOT deciding on the case, you are simply
discussing and examining the arguments of the plaintiff and the defendant).
For this assignment, level headings are required to help you organize
your thoughts and guide the reader through your thinking. As you are
creating your work, be sure you have an introduction that ties all elements
together, as well as a conclusion that signals to your reader you have
completed and tie up any missing pieces.
In a paper of 900 – 1000 words, include the following points:
1. Discuss how you think health care is influenced by the
intersection of ethics and law, and how this intersection affects
the profession as a whole.
2. Examining the facts of your case including the plaintiff’s and
defendant’s arguments. This should be 1-2 paragraphs and
brief in nature.
3. Incorporate what you have learned about ethics and law into a
summary of your case including a breakdown of both ethical
and legal violations that occurred in the case.
