Assignment Requirements:
Students will be asked to complete a scenario based project assuming the role of top management of a company. Using THIS CASE Links to an external site. (also in PDF format below), students will encounter a range of strategic issues that could require them to integrate knowledge from various business functions (i.e., accounting, finance, marketing, management, and information systems) to make a sound business decision. In doing so students will analyze and integrate numerous business and industry issues associated with the scenario and take into account the various perspectives of stakeholders involved before generating alternative solutions to the scenario and then choosing the optimal alternative. For the scenario provided, submit a well-written, typed, 5-7 page, double-spaced essay (which will be scored for written communication) that carefully addresses each the following 5 questions:

1. What do you see as plausible possible courses of action moving (hypothetically) forward? Describe at least three alternatives; each should be discussed in detail and address different stakeholder perspectives.
2. What would be the outcome implications of each of your proposed possible alternative courses of action? Describe any ethical implications associated with each of the decision alternatives.
3. What should the strategy be so that the company is best positioned under each decision alternative?
4. Based on your best analyses, which one of the above courses of action do you recommend and why?
5. As implications of your recommended decision, what are the actions needed in the next year for each function in the company: Marketing, Finance, Human Resource, Technology, Operations, etc.?
Formatting of Project
Your Scenario Based Strategic Management Project must be at least 5-7 pages, well-written, typed, and double spaced (Times New Roman font size 12 with 1 inch margins). You should also include a title page and table of contents which does NOT count towards the page requirements of the report. Large amounts of copied or quoted material, project guideline questions, and adjusting settings in Word (like line spacing, margins, font size, word spacing, etc.) will also not count towards meeting the page requirements. You should use bolded section headers to separate your responses to the 5 questions above.
