You have been hired as an arts consultant for an organization. The organization wants you to create a proposal for an arts program you think would be of benefit to those who would be in the program. All of your recommendations need to be supported by research and your proposal should contain at least three concrete ideas for developing your arts program.
You can make up your own program or use inspiration from an existing program. Make sure you determine your ideas on what kind of program you want to create (next slide), then do research into possible ideas that would benefit those who would be in the program.
Determine the following for creating your Program:
Start by deciding what kind of organization hired you: a school, community center, etc.
Then, decide what kind of program you’d want to create: arts education, art therapy, etc.
Third, decide what kind of art you want to focus on: drawing/painting, graphic arts, theatre, etc.
Fourth, decide who would be the people in your program: kids, senior citizens, prisoners, etc.
Depending on who would be in the program, you may also need to decide if it’s an after-school program, over the weekend, etc.
Finally, decide what three ideas you have that the program will do that would be of benefit to those in the program.
Additional Guidelines:
Include a summary explaining the arts program and the organization.
State a clear thesis that advances specific ideas as to what will be offered in the program and how it’ll benefit those in the program.
Include research from at least 4 articles, 2 of which should come from the class database.
Document your research in MLA or APA format and include a works cited page.
Length: 1250-1750 words (5-7 pages)
