I’m not a big fan of reading and all that but I do like writing a lot.
Some of the books I’ve read enhanced my vocabulary and my way of expressing and describing things, So I feel it’s easier for me to write about anything!
Also, I like writing songs and I put effort into it, listening to music all my life and paying attention to the lyrics gave me the chance to rhyme words easily or at least better than I used to…So, it makes me happy to keep learning about it.
Also, I’d love to learn how to write poems and to become good at it since I think it might be a great opportunity to become good at writing and also at writing my songs and making them look way cooler.
So yeah, I do love writing, I find it entertaining and even therapeutic depending on the topic of course.

My most memorable literacy event is when I first discovered Maya Angelou’s “Phenomenal Woman” poem. Maya’s unapologetic celebration of womanhood sparked something in me. I felt empowered. In that moment I realized the true strength and beauty within EVERY woman, especially myself. Literally from that day on I carried the words PHENOMENAL WOMAN with me as a constant reminder of my own worth and potential. It was almost like my new anthem. This encounter sparked my interest in poetry and I had a desire to explore my own creativity through writing. It lead me to explore the works of other poets and dive deeper into the art of poetry itself. I even entertained the idea of creating my own poetry. This journey of self discovery through poetry allowed me to tap into my own creativity in ways I never thought before. I try to explore my own thoughts and emotions through writing. I hope to one day stand before an audience, like open mic and share my own words and experiences with others. And as I continue to hone into my craft and discover more poetry, I am grateful for the impact that poetry has had on me.
