All papers must be 300-400 words completed in Microsoft Word, using a 12 point font sans serif font, and be double spaced. All papers will be presented in APA format in accordance with “Publications Manual of the American Psychological Association, 7th Edition.” Papers will be written in a style that reflects writing competency that is acceptable for professionals in the criminal justice field and should all have at least 2 academic sources. Each paper must have a cover page, body of information, and a reference page.
Discuss a crime in which contaminated evidence or a contaminated crime scene impacted the investigation or prosecution of a suspect. The paper will submitted through the paper dropbox in Brightspace.
Grades will consider the use of grammar, spelling and punctuation in each assignment. Regurgitation of ideas found in assigned articles is not acceptable. Students will show critical thought in evaluating each article and will provide their own ideas. Papers will also be graded based on organization, depth of research and synthesis of information. While you are writing your assignments the temptation for plagiarism will be present, especially if you do not plan accordingly are feel you are in a time crunch. Plagiarism is the unacceptable copying and use of someone else’s written work (printed or internet). There is no place for plagiarism in the college environment. On a personal level, I have no use for liars, cheats and thieves. If someone plagiarizes, isn’t she then becoming a liar, cheat and thief? Each referenced article needs to be properly acknowledged by the student. Should you be unsure if a particular situation would result in a charge of plagiarism, see me and we will resolve the issue prior to the submission of your work. Those who are discovered plagiarizing someone else’s work for credit will receive an automatic failure in the course!
