Task Details
To complete this Assessment (Correlation and Regression Assignment) you will need to perform and interpret a range of correlation and regression analyses in order to answer ten questions. The analyses must be completed using the Jamovi software. You can find the assignment questions and information about the dataset in the folder titled “Assessment 2: Correlation and Regression Assignment (Resources)”.
Importing Your Dataset
To complete this assignment, you will use a dataset that is unique to you and has been generated based on an algorithm applied to your student identification number. Your unique dataset will be emailed to your La Trobe University email address as a .csv file. Some students have encountered issues when downloading their .csv file from their emails – to work around this, please click the “Download all” button (which looks like this: ) instead of downloading each file individually.
To import your .csv file data into Jamovi, please use the “Special Import” function, this process is outlined in the Introduction to Jamovi Tutorial. Copying and pasting your unique dataset into Jamovi is not advised.
NOTE:
No data cleaning is required for the assignments in this subject: you can go ahead and assume that all of the datasets have been pre-cleaned for your convenience.
No transformations are required: if you discover that your unique dataset has skewness or kurtosis, please ignore these issues and proceed with your analyses as if the assumptions have been met.
Structuring & Formatting Your Assignment
This assignment should be formatted as a series of short answer questions. You have some flexibility in how to format your responses to each of the ten assignment questions, so long as your answers are in order and it is clear which answer belongs to each question. You can either copy in the assignment questions in full or just label each question as “Question 1”, “Question 2” (etc.) to structure your responses. The assignment questions/question numbering will not count towards your total word count, nor will tables, figures, or Jamovi output.
You must include any relevant Jamovi output directly below each question. You are not required to format your Jamovi output in any way, unless explicitly asked to do so. Please review the Weekly Tutorial Answers PDFs for examples of how to structure your responses and copy in the associated Jamovi output for each question.
You are only required to format your responses in APA style when the question directs you to do so (e.g. ‘report the results in APA format’, ‘report this scatterplot as a figure in APA format’). Other elements of APA formatting like title pages, page numbers, reference list, etc are not necessary and will not be assessed.
