Assignment Description:
It is important for you to know something about the construction industry in order to make any claims about ethical behavior. The sources of your contributions can be your personal experience, qualified friends or family members, friends you know in the construction industry, the Internet, or the ISU library. Before beginning the assignment, you might want to visit Wikipedia and research the construction industry. Many people do not accept Wikipedia as an authoritative source, but it could be useful for these assignments. You should also use other references. The objective of the assignments is to provide useful information about the items you select from the lists below.
Directions:
Each assignment will consist of 5 topics selected from the list provided below. You can select any 5 topics of your choice. Each topic will have a minimum of 200 words minimum. A construction superintendent is the individual who oversees every step of
the construction process, from planning to completion. They are in charge of
conducting interviews and selecting the workers they want on the job site. Some
construction superintendents specialize in a certain type of construction, whether
residential, commercial, or industrial. They take full responsibility for their jobs
sites, overseeing everything from making schedules to selecting materials.
Construction superintendents need to be able to present timelines of their jobs
along with estimations for costs. Scheduling, either manually or through software,
is necessary for construction superintendents to create and maintain these
timelines. Dealing with civil engineers or architects, as well as communicating
their decisions with project managers and other construction workers, requires
strong communication skills. A Superintendent must have a knowledge of OSHA
Standards. Organizational safety knowledge is a prerequisite for holding many
construction superintendent jobs, since workers and unions alike tend to take
special interest in seeing that these standards are upheld. Typically, many
employers prefer hiring construction superintendents who have a good command
of the construction process, including the tools, tasks, and roles involved so
experience is one of the best tools for a superintendent to succeed. Additionally,
