TOPIC: PROMPT1 -The trajectory and evolution of both the Democratic and Republican parties shifted and transformed dramatically over the course of the late 19th and the 20th centuries. Much of this is known to be the product of post-Civil War relations, early 20th-Century progressive politics, the shifting nature of America as a global power, and the impact of domestic events such as the Red Scares. How would you, personally, explain the development of the Democratic and Republican Parties into the organizations we know them as today? At what point did they solidify the identities we are common within 2023? Construct an essay in which you evaluate key moments in American history that defined either one or both of the political parties. Tips Histories of both major and third political parties are widely available in the library as well as online through the library search system You are not limited to discussing just the Democrats or Republicans—you can also investigate third parties such as the Progressives (PP), the Socialist Party of America (SPA), the communist party of the United States of America (CPUSA), or the Green Party.
