Your Lab Exercise is to study some of the archaeology exhibits and collections in the main exhibit hall and answer the following questions. Each assignment (in total, including answers to the two questions) should be typed, double-spaced, and 1.5 – 2 pages long for all questions combined, with 1” margins and 12 pt Times New Roman font. Grading will be based on your knowledge and insights into the exhibits, as well as your clarity, organization, presentation, and ability to edit and format the assignment properly. When you’re finished, submit your assignment via Canvas.
In the Oregon: Where Past is Present exhibit, how did differences in the environment affect the lifestyles of people who lived in various “culture areas” and the artifacts they left behind? (Click here for a link to the virtual version of the exhibit). Make sure to select two that are seen in the museum and their associated artifacts.
In the Collections Galleries are there any tools or other human-made objects that you had not seen before or were not familiar with? What did they look like? Please describe this particular artifact or group of objects in detail (e.g., color, shape, size…) and include sketches or photos of the artifact.
