Evaluation of Policy Communication Material
Throughout this semester, you have practiced communicating policies to various audiences through various strategies. Now, it is your turn to take what you have learned and use it to evaluate how others are doing it.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has developed an evidence-based tool for evaluating public health communication materials. For your final assignment, you are asked to choose a piece of policy communication material/media and rate it based on the CDC-CCI.

This assignment has 3 components:
You will submit the material you are assessing (this can be a pdf or document, high quality image, or a link).
PLEASE NOTE: this may be the most difficult part of the assignment. An optional “assignment” submission page has been created where you can submit your material for our review no later than Friday, April 19th at noon so that you know you’re looking at the right type of material. It is highly encouraged that you submit the material for pre-review. A link to this pre-review submission is here: Material Pre-Review (OPTIONAL but encouraged)
PDF of your completed score sheet.
You may use the Clear Communication Index Widget and, at the end, save the PDF that can be generated for you.
If you’d rather complete one of the blank score sheets linked in the assignment guidelines, you may do that as well.

Here you will reflect on possible improvements to your selected material and on the process.

Remember that you are focusing on health policy communication materials for a policy related to women’s health. If you cannot identify a policy or policies outlined in the material, it likely isn’t right for this assignment.
