TOPIC: SCIENCE–There are two strands under Science.
One is about knowledge/content or the what we want to know about the topics in science (scientific knowledge). Understanding of and information about the earth and living things, including their relationships and interdependencies. –Paying attention to the Natural World. Scientific Knowledge is about content–be sure you understand the science content areas covered by these concepts.
The other is about how we discover concepts about science or the inquiry and exploration process we used to explore science concepts. The process through which children apply and test their scientific knowledge, including sensory observations, asking questions and data collection and analysis. Or simply testing questions and ideas! In early childhood this process is hands-on.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Demonstrate your knowledge of these two concepts
a. SELECT a science knowledge area or topic. For example-life science (nature, animals, botany-plants etc…), physical science (matter, chemistry, mechanical science), earth science (physical geography, weather,) space science (stars, sun, moon) The items listed here are examples you will find other areas and ideas in your readings.
b. DESCRIBE an activity that is hands-on and exploratory that allows children to learn about the science topic-to increase their knowledge of the subject.
2. Post your topic and activity and indicate the age for the selected activity
The purpose of review is to help sharpen your thinking about the concepts and to see the difference between knowledge and inquiry in science. Although you need to respond to only two people you should read through all the posts.
