“Research Question
The proposed research question in greater depth is: What are the reasons for the healthcare-associated infection (HAI) to be persistent and difficult to eliminate, even when enough measures have been planned to bring the same under control? The importance of this type of study is paramount since HAIs represent a relevant and marked risk to patient safety, with profound implications for healthcare outcomes and costs.
Theoretical Framework
This theoretical framework will be guided through the socio-ecological model (SEM). SEM provides a broad framework to explain the balance of various determinants across the individual, interpersonal, organizational, community, and policy levels about their influences on health behaviors and outcomes (Reyes et al., 2023). Thus, the selected framework fits this study as it captures the complexity and diversity that characterize the prevention and control of HAI. These include the individual factors, in this case, probably knowledge, attitude, and behavior of a health worker, which directly influence the transmission of HAIs. Moreover, other interpersonal issues, like those involved with team dynamics and communication patterns, may explain why HAIs continue.”
