Pick a major disaster event. Describe the disaster event, the mitigation in place at the time of the event, the recovery since the event, what mitigation has been put into place since the event, and what you see, based on the academic literature, that should still be done. The purpose of the case analysis is for you to assess a specific situation and identify the general management issues raised by the case study. Analysis means you draw out pertinent issues from the case. It does not mean you rehash the facts of the case. It may be necessary to use the facts to illustrate or support your analysis, but make the assumption that the reader is familiar with the case. The expectation of production is that the analysis is thorough and concise. The analysis should begin with a brief summary paragraph of the case and the general emergency management issues it raises. The remainder of the report should address the requirements specified in the syllabus. If I can clearly recognize each required content in your paper, any narrative flow of your report that allows for ease of reading can be utilized. The use of outside sources (sources other than the case study and textbook) is not required but I do expect proper citing of sources within the text of the paper.
