In this assignment, you will be asked to create a children’s book for infants or toddlers. The book should be designed to address a problem, occurrence or common routine in the life of young children, and you should specifically focus on one area of development within that context. (using PowerPoint)
Write a story that is at least 12 pages long on your topic. You do not need to illustrate it yourself (although I would love it if you did). You can provide graphics that include photographs you have taken yourself, clip art, or any other graphics you can legally use.
In addition to your book, you must submit a separate paper describing how you have designed your book. In this paper, give the intended age range for your story and discuss what is going on in the domain of psychology you are addressing at that age.You might focus on cognitive development, socio-emotional development, relationships or any other area we have discussed that is relevant.
You will need to include 2 research references that relate to your paper. You must use peer reviewed journal or book articles and you must use empirical (i.e. articles that are studies that collect data) articles.. Do not use popular media or news sources, and do not use review articles or book chapters. No quotations are allowed, and you must cite in APA style although you do not need a title page, headers, or an abstract. In your paper, provide a synopsis of the articles, and then clearly and explicitly relate them to the content in your book.
