Overview For this assignment, you will continue to develop the framework for you

April 15, 2024

Overview
For this assignment, you will continue to develop the framework for your doctoral project. The methodological approach you have adopted will be formalized and, if appropriate, developed into a project design. The population and sample will be further refined, along with considerations for recruitment and research sites. Finally, the building blocks of your project (constructs, phenomena, variables) will be described in detail, and aligned with the topic, justifications, and definitions.
Refer to the Virtual ResidencyLinks to an external site. Campus page for your PhD or Professional Doctorate program’s Project Plan Guide. Remember, the Project Plan helps you develop the details of your project. Your work will be reviewed through multiple lenses, including those of instructors, peers, the existing literature, and other sources. You should seek opportunities to refine your work. As you deepen your understanding and add detail to your project, you should expect that you will make several revisions during and beyond this course. Doctoral project planning is an iterative process, with each revision often inspiring further revisions until all elements are aligned. These iterations are a necessary and customary part of the doctoral journey.
Instructions
After incorporating any final feedback from your V8926 instructor and further improvements or refinements between courses, submit the sections of your Project Plan you completed in V8926. The first four sections (Project Topic, Project Problem, Supporting Evidence, and Project Questions) should not be changed from V8926. If it is necessary to change information in these sections, please consult your current instructor in V8927.
Develop the initial work that you did in the fifth section as follows, consulting the Project Plan Guides provided by your program for specific expectations for these sections. Be sure to update the reference list at the end as you add more resources to support your project development. Include the following:
Methodological Approach:
Identify the proposed methodology (and research design, if applicable) and rationale for this methodology. Rationale should include:
Brief description of the methodology with reference to recent and seminal research in this topic and problem area.
Philosophical assumptions of the methodology.
Alignment of methodology with research questions: how will this method answer your questions?
Identification of sources of data that will be needed to implement this methodological approach, which will be described in more detail later in the Project Plan.
Population and Sample:
Describe the population from which you will recruit your sample of participants, including relevant statistics such as population size, distribution, and demographics, as well as potential recruitment sources. Include the following as appropriate for your research:
Justification for targeting this population as related to the project questions and proposed methodology.
Potential vulnerabilities of this population that may impact their risks as participants.
Potential barriers to reaching and engaging with this population.
Constructs, Phenomena, Variables:
As needed, refine and adjust the descriptions of constructs, phenomena, and/or variables based on the proposed methodology and alignment with the topic, problem, gap, and questions.
Consider that these ideas are the building blocks needed to answer your project questions using your chosen methodology. Address any gaps or misalignment to ensure that you can answer the questions using data that reflect these elements. If appropriate for your methodology, develop and define variables to represent constructs. Explain how each of your chosen components (constructs, phenomena, variables) aligns with the topic, problem, gap, and questions. Use evidence from the peer-reviewed literature as needed, but the focus here is to draw a logical connection between the overall goal of your project and these refined components.
