Purpose:
The purpose of this assignment is to help you practice the following skills that are essential to your success in this course:
Assess what role the WHO plays in determining global healthcare.
Interpret the objectives of global healthcare.
Compare the quality of healthcare in the United States to other countries.
Task:
Create a narrated PowerPoint that you will share with the members of a select committee in Congress.
Be sure to include an introduction of your team members to Congress and their experience in this area that makes them right for your team.
Include any statistics in your presentation that will show the extent to which this is a crisis situation, including reports from other countries.
The PowerPoint presentation should be at least 20-25 slides, not counting the introduction or reference slides.
Please include citations from 2-3 scholarly references, including textbooks. The citations must be provided using APA 7th ed. format.
Instructions:
You are the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of a large healthcare facility in Washington DC and work closely with several government agencies in your area. Based on the information you have been briefed on, you are to form a group of healthcare professionals and develop a plan to present to Congress your proposal to deal with the new health concern described below. A special session will be held in one week to discuss your strategic plan to deal with this health crisis. It is with upmost urgency this occurs.
Scenario: A respiratory virus starts spreading in the United States. It appears more transmissible and more deadly than SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, and it is equally risky for children and adults, based on the rapid spread and number of deaths in another country. There’s no available vaccine, though one is under investigation. There are only 10 reported cases in the United States, but five are in the jurisdiction you are advising. This is all the information available.
Include the following information in your proposal:

Discuss your strategic plan for the overall project.
How do you plan to develop your crisis team?
What current resources are available?
What is the current health status of your facility and other major hospitals in your area?
Are the hospital infrastructures stable at this point in time?
How is the technology structure at this time and does it integrate with all other EHR systems?
Who will manage the personnel and supply resources?
What is the plan for communication to the public?
What has the response been in other countries?
