What does privacy mean to you when posting to Social Media?
Is privacy important to you? Do you want to know all the details of your friends lives by reading on social media? Do they want to know all your details?

First:
1. Privacy to me when posting on social media is very important. For the, the internet is a world of it’s own with many people there waiting and watching. Privacy is very important. It is the only peace we have when it comes to our identity. I personally don’t agree with people putting their every move on social media. I’m sure there are somethings that my friends would not want to see me post online and vice versa. Some things are meant to be kept sacred and in private. To me, posting every detail online is very dangerous and allows chaos if you’re not careful. I am very specific when I post and if I were to post something private that a friend shares publicly that would definitely be a conversation and action would follow whether it be deletion of the person or the post on the public forum by the friend. Privacy on social media is a huge issue because there’s practically no privacy available to be honest. Because our technology is designed to be so invasive we as consumers and users should always be mindful and careful of what we share and allow to be shared with these apps and on the social media platforms. I personally prefer not to play around with it. I am very conservative when it comes to using social media for personal reasons.
2. With the content that is out in the world today, we have choice but to allow the invasion when we utilize these apps. Therefore is very important that we be mindful of the settings so we are sharing a little as possible with these platforms. I definitely do not share my personal information with everyone and is very selective in who I add to my social media pages as well. I have a social medica social circle that knows me and how I operate and pretty much functions the same when it comes to social media therefore the online respect is mutual. However I am one that have experienced internet harassment and stalking before therefore I take major precautions even existing on social media. I am very careful when posting locations, and/or with certain people. I do enjoy the feature on Facebook for example that allows you to also control who sees your page, your friends, groups your in, posting on your page and even tagging you in their posts. That is huge and I appreciate that even though technology does invade heavily on us we must utilize the features there that allows us to remain safe and professional online. These features allow you to share personal family phots with loved ones online however hide them from being seen by others such as those you may work with. I truly appreciate these features with our ever so growing technology. It gives us a little control at least.
Second:
Post 1 Privacy while posting to Social Media means that my personal and sensitive information is not easy to find. Privacy is important because I wouldn’t want people to know my address, phone number, school, etc. I do not want to know all the details of my friends lives by looking on social media, I would want them to tell me in person or over text, and the same with my details.
Post 2 I don’t share personal information with everyone and I rarely share my information with people I am close with. There is no pictures or things that I wouldn’t want for my grandmother or future job to see.
