Promoting ECE Experiences Project
[WLOs: 3, 4] [CLOs: 1, 4]
Creating an environment in which all children have equal opportunities to learn and thrive is a fundamental goal in early childhood education and addressing bias attributes is a critical component of achieving this goal. Bias attributes refer to any characteristics, beliefs, or practices within educational settings that may introduce bias or prejudice, particularly related to young children. These attributes can affect how educators, administrators, and policies interact with and support young children and their families. Bias in early childhood education can have significant and long-lasting effects on a child’s development and educational outcomes.

Choose one early childhood education activity:
Persona Dolls: Persona dolls are dolls representing diverse backgrounds, abilities, and identities.

Role Play: Role play in early childhood education can be a powerful tool for teaching diversity by allowing children to take on diverse roles, perspectives, and experiences.
Small Group Discussions: Small group discussions can teach diversity by providing a safe and interactive space for children to explore and exchange ideas.
Literature Circles: Literature circles and themes in age-appropriate books can help explore different backgrounds and perspectives.
