Assessment/Instrument Critique Paper Guidelines
Your paper should include the following content?
– For your topic, you should be identifying a specific assessment measure (i.e.
WISC-V, Roberts, Rorschach, Myers-Briggs).
– You should review what this measure is used for
– You should include what professional setting this assessment is typically utilized
– Include what qualifications are needed to administer this assessment.
– Review the reliability of this assessment
– Review the validity of this assessment
– Review overall development of this assessment.
– End your paper with your recommendation for use of this assessment as well as
pros and cons of the particular assessment.
– This paper should include at least 6 references
– This paper should be written in APA format
– This paper should be a minimum of 8 pages in length (not including reference
page or title page)
Here are some guidelines to follow when writing this paper:
– Be sure that your paper meets the assigned page requirements, plus reference page and title page, using standard one-inch margins, 12-point font and double spacing.
– It must cover the topic effectively and present a well-developed thesis, supported by evidence from primary and secondary sources.
– It must in some way demonstrate an understanding of the development of
scholarship on the topic—that is, the paper itself must incorporate in the text and
notes an adequate discussion of the scholarly works on the subject.
– It must demonstrate mastery of the conventions of the discipline—i.e., the physical appearance of the paper, grammar, syntax, punctuation, etc.—in
accordance with the APA style format.
– Be sure to incorporate research from scholarly journals. You should consider
using databases within the UML library (specifically psych info and psych
articles)
– It must have a title page that includes your name and title of the paper.
– Proofread. Making sure to double check your grammar and spelling.
