It’s showtime and you have been chosen to produce our next show. To complete this assignment, you will need to do the following:
Choose one of the following two shows to produce: Once on this Island or Fefu and Her Friends. You can find more information about each show on the attached document. Please read this document very carefully as it has crucial information that you will need to receive credit on this assignment. Link to document: Guidelines
Create a budget for your show. Each budget starts with $3,000. You may propose fundraising activities to add money to the budget, but you must estimate as accurately as possible how much money these activities would bring in (i.e. A bake sale will not bring in $1000). As you create your budget, please consider the following:
a. Will you charge for tickets? If so, how much?
b. Will you offer a different rate for adults, seniors, students, or children? Or will everyone pay the same amount?
c. How many performances are you offering?
d. You must set aside budgets for costumes, props, set, and advertising for your show. How much you give to these areas is up to you, but you will need to defend your choices in your reflection.
Write a 1–2-page paper that details the budgetary choices you made and explain the reasons why you made the decisions you made. Your paper should include:
• any fundraising measures you plan to take to cover the cost of the season.
• the positive benefits you expect from implementing this budget.
• the ways you believe your choices will impact your audience, the actors, and the community.
• any challenges you foresee with producing this show and how you plan to address them.
Note: I’m not picky about the format of your assignment. (For example: you may choose to list out your budget in bullet points or an accompanying spreadsheet, or you may write it all out in prose form.) It’s your choice on how you would like to communicate your ideas.
