demonstrates your global and cultural awareness.
Global and Cultural Awareness courses are credit-bearing experiences
in which students learn how to communicate across cultures while developing
an understanding of global interdependence and how it is influenced by
culture – understood as the values, beliefs, practices, rituals, and behaviors
held by groups of people. These courses explore difficult differences such as
racial, ethnic, and gender inequality, as well as struggles around the globe for
human rights, freedom, and power. These courses will provide tools t o
increase students’ critical analysis of the global and intercultural nature of
society and practice ethical reasoning to successfully navigate this world.

or professional life moving forward?

topic.
– Include a thesis statement that summarizes how your examples relate to the
definition of global and cultural awareness identified above.
Body
– Write a paragraph for each example. Begin each paragraph with a topic
sentence that identifies the example and how it relates to global and cultural
awareness.
– Avoid listing quotes. Stay focused on proving how your examples relate to
global and cultural awareness.
– Be sure to follow the writing requirements listed below.
Conclusion
– Write a paragraph (3-5 sentences) explaining how this awareness influences
your personal or professional life moving forward.

– Last name as the file name
– [Example: Johnson.docx]

Citation of Sources:
– This is not a research project. You are being asked to explore what you have
learned from assigned materials.
– If you choose to ignore this by consulting outside/unassigned sources, you must
include a works cited page in proper MLA format. Failure to cite outside sources
is plagiarism, which will not be tolerated and will result in failure of the
assignment or the course overall.
– If you use historical details or quotations from the textbook, they must be cited
in quotation marks. Include the author’s name in parentheses along with the
section of the text you are referencing. [ex. (Kordas, et. al, Chapter 6.3).]
o Introduce and explain the importance of quotations to the rest of your
essay, otherwise it is unclear why you are throwing in random quotes.
o While you are required to support your essays with details from the
assigned material, I urge you to refrain from excessive quotation. Tip:
if more than 1/4 of a paragraph is in quotations, this i s excessive.
Instead, work on explaining facts in your own words.
Writing Requirements:
– You should always use your best writing style. DO NOT use contractions, slang,
or profanity.
– Events that took place in the past must be written the past tense. Pay attention
to verb tense.
– Edit and spell check- There is a difference between there and their (and they
are). There is a difference between to, too, and two. There is a difference
between then and than. Regardless of how brilliant a paper is; if it is not
grammatically correct it is not an “A” paper.
– Essays will be graded on completion, accuracy, and college level writing style.
Submitting Essay:
– Essays must be submitted into the “Assignments” by the deadline. Do not wait
until the last minute.
– I can only grade what I see. Make sure the assignment uploaded properly.
Submissions MUST be uploaded in MSWord (.doc/.docx). Pages and GoogleDocs
do not covert correctly and I can only grade what I see. If your files do not
convert, I will not chase you down to fix them. I cannot accept emailed
assignments. Take a few seconds to properly upload your assignment.
– This paper is submitted through plagiarism software. An essay plagiarized in
part OR in full will receive a zero and will be provided as evidence of academic
dishonesty to the Dean. If you have any questions on how to properly cite a
source or any questions at all about this assignment, immediately send me an
