Case study paper (50 pts)- 5 to 7 pages double spaced
Executive Summary – 1 Page (double spaced) high level summary of
the selected fraud case.
Description of the fraud that occurred.
Identification of Red Flags that existed.
Analysis of managements and/or auditor’s contribution or tacit
approval to the fraud.
Propose recommendations regarding what could have been performed to
identify or prevent the fraud by the auditor
Brief explanation of GAAP violation.
Power Presentation (30 pts) – Posted for peer review together with
the executive summary (which should be the initial pages of the power
point presentation)
Work paper documentation (20 pts) – Adequately support key
facts in your executive summary and presentation. This will include,
in part, copies of SEC releases, any special reviews performed by a third
party and newspaper articles. Provide concise links to all reference
materials.
Point value for power point presentation and
the executive summary – Power point presentation and executive summary
must clearly articulate the fraud(s), the red flags that should have identified
the fraud, the audit procedures that should have been performed to detect the
fraud and management’s and/or auditor’s responsibilities regarding the
fraud.
