Bio of presenter: Mark G. De Guzman, LMSW is a Filipino-American psychotherapist, activist, and social worker. He has worked at the micro and mezzo levels of community care with organizations such as Housing Works, The Trevor Project, and The Legal Aid Society.
Mark is passionate about Harm Reduction and the Rights of People Who Use Drugs, having previously managed the Syringe Exchange Program at Keith D. Cylar Community Health Center as well as Bailey Holt House, a supportive housing program for People Living with HIV/AIDS.
Currently Mark works as a Mitigation Specialist, working with public defenders in assessing and advocating on behalf of mentally ill arrestees seeking alternatives to incarceration. In his spare time, Mark enjoys cooking, gardening, and playing Dungeons & Dragons.
