For this assignment, you will be making an annotated bibliography for your Final Project. In your Final Project, you will “assume” the role of one of the fictional historical characters listed below and write a narrative from their perspective using historical research. Go take a look at the historical roles and select one. Once you have selected a character, you need to start doing basic research. THIS WILL REQUIRE FINDING A MINIMUM OF FOUR SOURCES: AT LEAST TWO PRIMARY SOURCES AND AT LEAST TWO PEER-REVIEWED SECONDARY SOURCES.
An “annotated” bibliography is just like a normal bibliography, it is a list of sources. An annotated bibliography goes one step further and explains the source. Under each individual source you need to have a paragraph of at least four sentences that explains what the source is and how it will be useful in writing your Final Project narrative. You need to make sure that your sources are listed in proper Turabian Style footnotes.
Parameters: 12-point, Times New Roman font; double-spaced; standard margins
Learning outcome: Students will demonstrate that they understand what primary and secondary sources are. Students will demonstrate that they can effectively summarize a source into one coherent paragraph. Students will demonstrate that they understand how their sources will be used in writing their Final Project.
Types of sources: Students must use at least four sources: at least two primary sources and at least two PEER-REVIEWED secondary sources. Students should contact the instructor or the reference librarian as early as possible if they are not familiar with what primary and secondary sources are.
