For this assignment please present a well-designed, thought-provoking case analysis. Utilize the coursework for this assignment from chapters 19-21. (I will provide attached materials/slides for these chapters, check attached files!). Read ALL INSTRUCTIONS:
Provide a full analysis of this accident and your thoughts on Ron’s policy coverage and liability coverage for the other two vehicles involved in the following case study: “Ron has a standard auto policy with the following coverages.
Liability 100/300/100; comprehensive – $500 deductible, collision – $500 deductible, rental 50/1000, uninsured motorist 100/300 and underinsured motorist 100/300
Ron was involved in a multi-vehicle accident on I-5 in a comparable negligence state; 51% rule.
No one was injured however, some of the drivers are blaming Ron for contributing to the accident. Ron believes he has coverage under his policy for his car and is confused about how insurance works. Ron told the police and insurance company that he was driving down the highway while there was a heavy marine layer of fog on the highway.
He kept the proper distance and did not see the car ahead of him stop. Ron collided with the car ahead of him and then veered into the left lane after the accident colliding with a car that was stopped in this lane. The police and Ron noticed that the car in the left lane did not have any lights on at the time of the accident.”
PLEASE MAKE SURE TO: Provide a full analysis of the accident and your thoughts on Ron’s policy coverage and liability coverage for the other two vehicles involved. Include what coverages may apply to Ron under his auto policy to repair his car. Analyze the liability arguments for both other cars involved in the accident. Present two arguments – one where Ron is liable and the other where Ron is not liable. In the analysis of coverage under Ron’s auto policy, use the CA driving laws to support your analysis and specify if the other drivers are entitled to any recovery as this is a comparable negligence state using the 51% rule.
