Historical context: (15 points) Provide a summary of the relevant historical context. For example, if your topic is Anne Hutchinson, discuss the Puritans in Massachusetts Bay in the 1630s. Use the textbook or other similar secondary source. Consider the history of women we have reviewed in class. (1 paragraph)
Brief biography: (15 points) Provide a little background on your subject and what is her significance. You can use information from your sources below. Do not say “So and so was a very important woman in history.” Be specific as to the historical significance. (1 paragraph)
Source review: (30 points) List your 5 sources including links. For EACH site, provide a brief description of the site. What kind of information is provided? Is there a source for the information? If so, describe. How reliable do you think it is? Is there opinion, bias, or a specific perspective/focus? Note if there is information here that does not appear in the other sources. (1-2 paragraphs each)
Polling: (10 points) Ask 3-5 random people (friends, family) if they heard of your topic and what they know? How many heard of it? Include at least 2 quotes.
Analysis: (20 points) What are your thoughts on how your subject is represented? Consider in the context of history and women’s history. Please relate to some of the themes and we have been studying in class. Your opinion is welcome, but make sure you have thoughtful analysis and specific references. (2 paragraphs)

How does your subject fit into the historical context? What was going on at the time? What were ideas about women?
How much do we really know? What sources exist?
What story do most people know? Consider myth v reality (if applicable).
