– This paper will respond to a prompt posted in the “Assignments” section on
Blackboard.
– Respond to only ONE prompt in your paper. Do not address multiple prompts.
– All papers will be graded using the rubric below. When I return your graded
paper, I will provide a breakdown of your grade in accordance with this rubric.
Paper conforms to format instructions
– Paper contains the following information at the top of the page:

– Paper is double-spaced with 12-point font and 1-inch margins.

– Imagine that your reader is one of your peers who has never
taken a philosophy course. An intelligent reader who knows
nothing about philosophy should be able to easily follow
your paper.
– Define terms where necessary. For instance, if you are
explaining an argument for utilitarianism, you need to state
what utilitarianism is.

– Your answer should incorporate at least one short quote
from the text to support your answer.
– It is not enough to simply include a quote from a text. You need
to tell the reader, in your own words, what point the author is

ideas in your own words and make sure you cite the reading
wherever appropriate.
