Assignment: For this essay, you will be analyzing literature. I’m asking you to engage with at least 3 outside sources. These sources need to be peer-reviewed journal articles found on scholarly databases. These sources could be about the literary text you are analyzing, about the author of that text, or about some type of critical theory.
You need to be making some sort of claim about the literary text that you have chosen to discuss, and the claim that you are making should determine the organization of your paper. I’ll also expect the majority of the evidence for your argument to be coming from the text you are analyzing. In other words, your primary focus should remain on the literary text that you have chosen to discuss. (Ill paste the literary text options below so you can pick).
Further details about the assignment: Thematically Oriented Argument- Make an argument about what a literary text reveals about a given topic. ( For example, what is Eugene O’ Neill’s play, Long Day’s Journey into the Night, saying about addiction? Or what is Allen Ginsberg’s poem, Howl, saying or revealing about madness?) As you make your argument, draw upon 3 peer-reviewed sources with which you agree or disagree.
