Log into your ATLAS account.
On the left side of the page, under Search All Cases, click the dropdown menu for Subject & Topic. Choose Literacy and English Language Arts.
Click the dropdown menu for Grade Level. Choose 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade.
Choose any one case once you have filtered the subject and grade level.
Watch the video and read all sections of the teacher’s commentary under the video.
Type your answer to the reflection questions in paragraph form. A minimum of one paragraph is required for each question.
What developmentally appropriate practices does the teacher employ (instructional strategies, goals, resources, materials, assessments, groupings, classroom layout, supports, etc.)? How are these developmentally appropriate practices specific to the grade level?
What does the “Instructional Context” section from the teacher’s written commentary indicate about the students in the class?

What insights from the case did you gather about how the knowledge of students’ developmental levels can impact lesson planning and instruction?
What is an example of a differentiation strategy used in this case? How is this differentiation strategy developmentally appropriate for this grade level?
What is an example of a classroom management strategy used in this case? How is this classroom management strategy developmentally appropriate for this grade level?
