Suggestions on how to proceed
1. Choose a product or service you wish to sell in the US, or internationally. This product or
service can be a new one, or an improvement to an existing product or service. If you are
working for a manufacturing or service company, you may use that product or service
and come up with a strategy on entering a new market.
2. Describe the product or service in detail.
3. Choose where you will sell this product or service and explain why you chose that
location. Consider the revenue potential of the new market, and consider risks such as
political and economic risks.
4. Briefly describe the availability of media in your chosen location and how you would
advertise your product or service.
5. Include details of your sales promotion strategies. How would you distribute this
product/service?
6. Describe existing competition for this product/service in your chosen market

– Creativity and originality of ideas 10 points
(Have fun with this – be creative, and express your own thoughts and ideas)
– Presentation of information 10 points
(You need to present your ideas with the purpose of convincing me that your business
will earn a profit)
– Completeness of paper 10 points

what is listed)
– Demonstrated knowledge of marketing 10 points
(Have you applied the terminology contained in the textbook to market your business
idea?)
– Grammar 10 points
Correct spellings and sentence structure are an important part of communicating
effectively, and getting your audience to interpret your message correctly. In business,
writing clearly is an important part of your communication strategy! As mentioned on p.
7, you may send rough drafts to me as often as you wish. I will review them and highlight
grammatical or spelling errors, if any. Only your final submission will be graded.
