Instructions for part one
For part one of this assignment — the annotated bibliography — your task is to write a well-developed summary paragraph for each of the four academic sources about your passage with an appropriately formatted citation (~200 words for each source). Place these at the beginning of the document in alphabetical order in terms of the scholar’s last name. Your four sources must include two commentaries and two peer reviewed journal articles. Online sources except for those accessed via the Hiebert Library will not count for this assignment. Book reviews will not count as peer reviewed journal articles. You should focus your summary on describing whatever unique insights or arguments about the focus text the scholar advances rather than any sort of general summary of the literary content of your text.
Instructions for part two
This is the second part of the annotated bibliography: the critical review of other scholarship. In this part, you will analyze where the scholars you summarized in part one agree and disagree with each other about interpreting your text. As before, focus your analysis on the unique insights and arguments about the focus text the scholars advance rather than any sort of general summary of the literary content of your text. The total length should be approximately 400 words.
