Hello, I am making this order for my sister who needs help with her essay. PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTION IN ITS ENTIRETY.
Task: Using the essential questions and sub-questions, compose an essay saying whether or not the U.S. should ban TikTok, which also answers all of the following:
What role does TikTok have in our society?
Should responsible consumers and producers of news and information use TikTok?
What role, if any, has confirmation bias, stereotyping, and/or other cognitive biases had on how events, news, and information posted on TikTok are evaluated?
What effect has TikTok had on the traditional news cycle, and how does it influence public opinion and the press?
Does TikTok pose safety/security risks to the United States?
Is TikTok safe for young people to use?
Is targeted marketing on TikTok appropriate for youth?
Requirements:
4-6 pages of TEXT.
MLA formatting, complete with in-text citations and a Works Cited page (not included in 4-6 page minimum).
Include at least 4 sources:
2 of which MUST be from the sources I attached.
1 of which may be from a reputable, news source.
1 of which MUST be a SCHOLARLY article (use Scholar.Google.com).
Organization – include an introduction, several body paragraphs, a counterclaim/counterargument, and a conclusion.
Central idea and stance included in first paragraph (thesis/claim).
The thesis should be formatted like this: “[claim] because [three arguments].” It can also be broken into 2 sentences still needs a claim and three arguments.
Your thesis should come near the end of your introduction.
The thesis statement should always clearly state the main idea you want to get across. Everything else in your essay should relate back to this idea.
Purpose: Form a claim based on the topic and aim to convince your audience that your stance and/or solution is accurate, believable, valid, etc. Address possible counterclaims and offer evidence to dismiss those potential counterarguments against your claim.
Audience: An educated, academic audience. Do not make assumptions about what the audience does/does not know. Vocabulary, style, and diction should reflect academic writing skills.
Notes:
My sister wants to write in support of banning TikTok.
One of the two sources you need to find should be used for a counterargument OR you can find one additional one making 5 sources.
Feel free to change the title to fit the essay.
In-text citations should be a mix of quotes and paraphrasing.
