MLA formatting, complete with in-text citations and a Works Cited page (not included in 4-6 page minimum).
Include at least 4 sources:
2 of which MUST be from the sources I attached.
1 of which may be from a reputable, news source.
1 of which MUST be a SCHOLARLY article (use Scholar.Google.com).
Organization – include an introduction, several body paragraphs, a counterclaim/counterargument, and a conclusion.
Central idea and stance included in first paragraph (thesis/claim).
The thesis should be formatted like this: “[claim] because [three arguments].” It can also be broken into 2 sentences still needs a claim and three arguments.
Your thesis should come near the end of your introduction.
The thesis statement should always clearly state the main idea you want to get across. Everything else in your essay should relate back to this idea.
Purpose: Form a claim based on the topic and aim to convince your audience that your stance and/or solution is accurate, believable, valid, etc. Address possible counterclaims and offer evidence to dismiss those potential counterarguments against your claim.
Audience: An educated, academic audience. Do not make assumptions about what the audience does/does not know. Vocabulary, style, and diction should reflect academic writing skills.
