Research proposal and outline:
Subject: SANTERIA
The research proposal must include a tentative title, abstract (100 to 200-word summary of the intended approach), and an annotated list (formatted in appropriate APA Reference style) of at least five academic sources not assigned as part of the course reading and five of the assigned readings. This means that you put the bibliographic reference in and then after it, you state how you will use it, and may even include a quotation from the source. In addition to the ten required sources, your reference list may include additional academic or non-academic sources, such as media reports, and material produced by the group and its current or former members. Indicate which methodologies you intend to use (historical-critical, sociological, psychological). Include names of the theories that you intend to apply or critique, for example, Dawson’s criteria for the instability of charismatic authority. (75 points)
The outline should mention sources on the annotated list, and be at least two pages (double-spaced).

Group(s) background, origins and beliefs
Group(s) historical development
Perspectives of other scholars (can be interspersed with the first two sections)
Methodological argument. This is your attempt to explain the group’s behavior–according to one or more of the following criteria: success, failure, recruitment, outcome, change in direction–using theories we have discussed in class or those you have discovered through your research. The methodology can be tentative and can change if you discover new things while doing your research.
Conclusion
The outline should include headings and subheadings that lay out the plan for your paper. You may include complete sentences but do not start writing the paper. This should be a plan of your intended sections and arguments.
