Evaluate your group member’s information. Here is my classmates post that i will need to respone to:
Role: Taylor’s Best Friend
As Taylor’s best friend, I have noticed a huge downward shift in Taylor socially and emotionally. She never wants to hang out anymore, and when we do hang out she is quiet and seems sad. Anytime I try to ask her what’s wrong, she says it’s nothing and pulls away. I thought that maybe other kids were being mean to her in school, but I haven’t noticed anyone saying anything rude to her. Although she has not talked to me about it yet, I overheard a conversation that she was having with our teacher. It seems that Taylor’s mom and dad are getting divorced, and our teacher has also noticed her attitude change. I know Taylor’s family well, and her mom and dad always seemed to get along well. I’m sure it came as a shock to Taylor and her siblings, as I can tell it’s really affecting her.
I miss my friend, and I hate seeing her so sad. My parents got divorced when I was in preschool, so I don’t really remember a time when they were together. However, I know what it feels like to be divided between two people and two different houses. I think the news of her parent’s divorce is so new that she’s not ready to talk to me about it yet. Whenever she is ready to let me know, I want her to know that it won’t always feel so bad and that I am here for her. I think that this will help her emotionally. I know that she is going to be experiencing an emotional rollercoaster of feeling sad and angry, so I want to give her an outlet to express those things.
Taylor and I have talked about joining the school soccer team, so I think now will be a good time to try out. She is so good at soccer and I think this will be another good outlet to take her mind off of what is happening with her parents. Socially, it will help her to meet more people, as well. I will make sure to continue inviting her to hang out with our friends and I. I don’t want to see my best friend get worse because of this, so I will make sure to be there for her socially and emotionally.
