Your Literature Review Assignment
Choose a minimum of four of the best references you’ve identified this semester during your literature research to prepare a Literature Review paper. Take insights identified during the Annotated References assignment as a basis to build your Literature Review. Use examples, lecture notes, Communication Context planning (Planning Grid/Matrix Exercise), and class discussions with your instructor to develop content for the main body of the Review.
The key feature of a Thematic Literature Review is the organization and comprehensive analysis and synthesis of these four references as a whole. As discussed in the Literature Review Resource document, an analysis of individual articles presented as individual analyses is not the goal. A Literature Review requires you synthesize these analyses under some guiding organizational pattern.
Within each theme, you should compare and contrast the articles. State what one article informs and compare it and contrast to the other articles. Your final paragraph in each theme should be your synthesis paragraph which informs your reader of what can be concluded from the information provided within the theme.
Assignment Instructions
Include these required elements (the entire document must follow current APA Style guidelines):
APA Formatted Title Page
Main Body Sections: Introduction, Body( three themes), Conclusion (Use specific headings, though, that align with your content, not these general headings.) For Example: use the Title of the theme…to left margin and underlined. Underline the word Introduction and place to left hand margin, underline the title of each theme and place on left hand margin, underline the word Conclusion and place on left hand margin.
In-text citations: you must use the information on the class Canvas site and the information in the APA 7th Edition Manual to determine how to correctly format your in-text citations. In-text citations are written in the theme portion of your literature review paper. You must take the time and make the effort to look up how to write your in-text citations properly. APA Formatted References Page (All references listed must be cited in the body of the Literature Review and all citations in the body of the Literature Review must be listed on the References page.
Required Format:
Length six pages ( including Title, Body of paper, and References page)
Use 11 pt. Arial or Calibri font style
Use 2.0 Paragraph line space
Use 1 inch Margins on all sides
Body of Paper to include:
Introduction
Three Theme Sections
Conclusion
References Page:
Include a minimum of four articles on References page. References must be Scholarly, and Credible (peer reviewed and from a scholarly source, not off the web/internet unless ending with .gov or .edu). No sources over ten years old!!
References must be alphabetized, and be written in correct APA format per APA format.
For each in-text citation, you must have a matching reference on your Reference page. For each reference on your Reference page, you must have at least one matching in-text citation.
