COACHING
A COACHING LEADER WILL QUICKLY REALIZE THEIR EMPLOYEE’S INDIVIDUAL STRENGTHS, WEAKNESSES, AND MOTIVATIONS AND THEN HELP THEM IMPROVE USING THEIR STRENGTHS AND INSPIRING THEM TOWARDS THEIR MOTIVATIONS. TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERS ARE GREAT AT SEEING THE B. PICTURE. THEY TEND TO FOCUS ON CLEAR COMMUNICATION, GOAL SETTING, AND MOTIVATION. THEY ALSO FOCUS ON THE ORGANIZATION AS A WHOLE MORE THAN EACH INDIVIDUAL EMPLOYEE. TRANSFORMATION LEADERS ARE GREAT IN ORGANIZATIONS WHERE EMPLOYEES ARE SELF-SUFFICIENT AND DON’T NEED MUCH SUPERVISION.
AUTOCRATIC
THE AUTOCRATIC STYLE OF LEADERS TYPICALLY MAKES DECISIONS ALONE OR WITH A SMALL TRUSTED GROUP OF PEERS. THIS LEADER IS ALMOST SOLELY FOCUSED ON RESULTS AND EFFICIENCY. THIS LEADERSHIP STYLE IS NOT THE BEST CHOICE AT MANY ORGANIZATIONS (OR IN MOST BUSINESS SITUATIONS) BECAUSE IT WILL HINDER INNOVATION AND CREATIVITY; HOWEVER, IN SOME SITUATIONS IT IS A NECESSITY A COUPLE OF THOSE SITUATIONS MIGHT BE A DOCTOR PREPPING THE OPERATING ROOM STAFF BEFORE A SURGERY OR THE FRONT LINES IN THE MILITARY COMBAT.
DEMOCRATIC
THE DEMOCRATIC STYLE, ALSO CALLED PARTICIPATIVE, SEEKS THE FEEDBACK AND INPUT OF THE TEAM BEFORE MAKING DECISIONS FOR THE ORGANIZATION.
