The purpose of this assignment is to identify, summarize, and evaluate primary academic sources that will be used in your project. For this assignment, you mustprovide a minimum of 3 academic sources (1 will earn you a maximum of a C grade). Academic sources include:
Peer-reviewed journal articles and chapters from edited academic books. This does not include journal reviews. It must be actual research conducted by the author.
Note the class textbook is a secondary source, not a primary source.
o An academic book includes citations and references.
If you are not sure if an article or chapter is peer-reviewed or academic, email the instructor to ask.
An annotated bibliography example is provided in D2L.
You must provide an annotation for each of the sources you use. To earn full points, the annotation must include three elements: (1) the purpose statement of your project at the top of the first page; (2) the source reference in APA format (make sure your sources are in alphabetical order); (3) a paragraph that contains pertinent information from thesource and a description of how that information relates or is beneficial to your project.
Please keep in mind that copying the abstract from an article or book or copying a review from another source is plagiarism and will result in a referral to the Dean of Students office. You must use APA 7th edition formatting for this assignment.

The purpose of this project is to investigate different instruments used to measure self-determination theory motivation constructs in exercise settings.
Vlachopoulos, S. P., Ntoumanis, N., & Smith, A. L. (2010). The Basic Needs in Exercise Scale: Translation and evidence for cross-cultural validity. International Journal ofSport and Exercise Psychology, 8, 394-412.
The purpose of this study was to develop and examine the validity and reliability of the Basic Psychological Need in Exercise Scale (BPNES). Feelings of autonomy, competence, and relatedness (i.e., basic psychological needs) are considered the building blocks of motivation in self-determination theory. Vlachopoulos, Ntoumanis, and Smith (2010) developed the BPNES, which measures autonomy, competence, and relatedness in exercise settings. The BPNES was tested with two separate samples of over 800 exercise participants between the ages of 8 – 69.
Through a number of statistical tests, the results of this study suggest that the BPNES was able to measure autonomy, competence, and relatedness in exercise settings acrossthe two samples with high levels of reliability and validity. The information from this study will be used to make an argument about the importance of using self-determination theory questionnaires specifically designed in exercise settings as opposed to generic self- determination theory questionnaires developed in other domains such as academic settings.
THIS IS THE FEEDBACK I RECEIVED FROM MY PROFESSOR: none of your sources are approved, you still need three more. Reviews of research are not considered primary sources. Look for articles where the author conducted the study on participants themselves. The author should not be discussing other people’s work to prove their point. You will need to submit for approval for your other three sources. You also need to add doi to all sources.
I would like for my document “HPAL 3100 Annotated Bibliography” to be fixed to meet the approval requirements. MY SOURCES SHOULD BE PRIMARY SOURCES NOT REVIEWS
