Project
You will
complete a mock research proposal (quantitative or qualitative) based on an
area of
personal interest relevant to the course content. The topic must be applicable
to a specific aspect
of Personnel Psychology and aim to answer a specific research question. This
paper will identify
and analyze key concepts and ideas of the subject and demonstrate your ability
to analyze the
various positions of available literature, thereby creating a balanced
manuscript, as well as the
ability to analyze the appropriateness of selected literature.
This project will include a title page, abstract, table of contents,
introduction (statement of the
problem, background of the proposed study, purpose of the proposed study,
research questions,
nature of proposed study, significance of proposed study, definition of terms,
assumptions and
limitations), literature review, methods section (proposed design,
participants, proposed data
collection procedures, data analysis procedures, and summary of expected
findings, conclusion
(conclusions, long range consequences, and suggested directions for future
research) and
reference pages.
It must be
written in APA style and should be approximately 15 to 20 pages in
length excluding ancillary pages. Plan to utilize approximately 10 to 12
scholarly references
depending on their quality to complete your paper. Wikipedia is not generally
recognized as a
scholarly source and therefore should be avoided. Additionally, general print
encyclopedias (e.g.,
World Book; Encyclopedia Britannica) are considered unacceptable in a
university environment.
