Topics for Research Projects:
Topic: What does it mean to say that motherhood is, for some, criminalized? How does the criminal justice system become involved in the policing of motherhood? What are some solutions identified from with the Reproductive Justice Framework to the criminalization of motherhood?
Topic: What are the implications of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health decision for the Reproductive Justice Framework? How has the Dobbs decision changed how reproductive justice advocates can and should seek to secure reproductive justice for all from within the RJF?
Topic: How has the Reproductive Justice Framework affected reproductive justice activism internationally? What are some ways in which the RJF has been applied internationally to address reproductive concerns? What are the elements of the RJF that are most relevant for its use in international contexts?

Annotated Bibliography Assignment:
You should select a topic for your research project.
You should then conduct research – the library has staff to assist you with this if you need it – to address the topic.
You should identify at least four substantial scholarly articles or book chapters that address the topic you are interested in. ALL of these articles must appear in peer-reviewed academic journals or be chapters in academically published books. Book reviews and shorter overview articles are not appropriate.
You should develop a thesis statement based on your research.
What you will submit
In one document you will identify (A) (in two to three sentences) the thesis statement of your research project; (B) an annotated bibliography with at least four entries that contains the following the complete citation of the source and a a detailed overview of the article or book chapter that emphasizes the elements of the article you will rely on in your research project. Approximate length is one single-spaced page for each source!
