Continued
professional development, whether via education, certification, or service in
professional organizations, is a crucial component of success as a nurse. 
The NEI will provide genuine information that will help you understand nursing
leadership, as well as share the journey of success for an actual Nurse
Executive.
INSTRUCTIONS
Review: b) Ch. 1, 3, or 10 in the required textbook (Yoder-Wise &
Sportstman)
1.    
Select a nurse executive (Registered Nurse, at a level above a
Nurse Manager) to conduct an in-person face-to-face interview, or a
face-to-face ZOOM interview with the Chief Nursing Officer, Director,
Assistant Director, or equivalent nursing executive-level position at a
Healthcare Agency of your choice (such as a hospital, major outpatient center
or clinic, a regulatory agency such as AHCA, Public Health Department, Hospice,
etc.).
2.    
BEFORE scheduling the interview, you may contact me via Canvas
email, telephone, or text message for guidance and interviewee ideas as needed.
3.    
Schedule an in-person face-to-face interview, or a
face-to-face ZOOM interview with the Nurse executive

***PLEASE be professional, considerate of your interviewees time,
& prepared for your
scheduled interview. (i.e., read through your interviewee questions
before you ask them)

Ask for a copy of the organizational chart so you can see how Nursing fits into
the
organization.

At the end of the Interview, provide a one (1) page reflection, written in
APA 7th format: Cover page, Reference page, & ½ page reflection
of the completed Interview.

Any Nursing Leadership research that relates to information you
learned during your Interview.
b.    
Your personal thoughts on interviewing a nurse executive
i.     scheduling the
interview,
ii.     what you
thought you would learn versus
iii.     what you did
learn,
iv.     how might you
use the information learned.
c.     
Include the required textbook ((Yoder-Wise & Sportsman and at
least 1 of your peer-reviewed nursing journal).
