The American Nurses Association’s (ANA; 2015) Code of Ethics was developed as a guide that delineates nurses ethical responsibilities to self, nurse colleagues, the profession, and patients.  Please review the Code of Ethics and Huston’s (2024) chapters on Patient, Subordinate, Workplace, and Professional Advocacy, and Educating and Socializing Staff in a Learning Organization to answer the following questions related to your PDSA project:

a) How do the following provisions in ANA’s Code of Ethics relate to your PDSA project?
Provision 3: The nurse promotes , advocates for, and protects the rights, health, and safety of the patient
Provision 4: The nurse has the authority, accountability, and responsibility for nursing practice; makes decisions ; and takes action consistent with the obligation to promote health and to provide optimal care.
Provision 5: The nurse owes the same to duties to self as to others, including the responsibility to promote health and safety, preserve wholeness of character and integrity, maintain competence, and continue personal and professional growth.
Provision 7: The nurse, in all roles and settings, advances the profession through research and scholarly inquiry, professional standards development, and the generation of both nursing and health policy.
Provision 8: The nurse collaborates with other health professionals and the public to protect human rights, promote health diplomacy, and reduce health disparities.

a) What issues do the American Nurses Association and Florida Nurses Association support to improve patient outcomes as well as the working environment of nurses? Provide at least two issues for each professional organization.

a) During your PDSA project, did any team members at your practicum site help you implement the project?  If yes, did you provide any education on the intervention?

a) Did the team members at your clinical practicum site support your plan and intervention?  Did you encounter any resistance?  If yes, how did you respond?
Guidelines:
Initial post: Respond to the discussion questions posted in Discussion board by Friday (11:59pm)  must be at least 150 to 200 words in length to earn credit for the assignment
