Directions: Students will write
a 2-4 page paper exploring policy related to father involvement in their
field placement, place of employment, or other relevant setting. Relevant
course readings must be cited (at least 3-5 APA style citations and references
are required). APA style is required
for all papers but a cover page is not necessary. All papers must be submitted via SafeAssign
on Blackboard.
Policy Paper
1.
Identify
a local, state, or federal policy that directly impacts fathers and
families.
The policy that impacts fathers and their families is the Child
Support Enforcement Act.
2.
Describe
the specific components of the policy that impacts fathers engagement with
services or involvement with their children. The child support enforcement act
was created in 1976 under Geral Ford.
3.
Identify
any unintended consequences of the policy in terms of its impact on fathers.
4.
Identify
how this policy negatively or positively impacts fathers specifically.
5.
Propose
revisions to the policy based on the literature on fathers and describe how
these proposed changes would impact children and families.
6.
Identify
any unintended consequences of your proposed revisions/enhancements.
