Information, Expectations on Research Writing Assignment
Research Paper — The Research component should be submitted as a Microsoft Word document and placed into the Canvas drop box provided by 30 March 2024. This brief assignment requires you to draft at least 1500 words (no less than four pages) and include a cover and reference page. Students should submit a topic for approval by 15 March 2024. Once a topic is chosen, other students must find another research subject. The subjects students choose should be those we will cover this semester in Developmental Psychology.
Guidelines for your research paper
THE RESEARCH PAPER IS GRADED ON WHAT STUDENTS DEMONSTRATE ABOUT HIS/HER TOPIC WHILE USING THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES:
ability to think critically about a topic and the sources necessary to study and analyze the topic;
ability to combine information and ideas into a focused, organized, supported argument.
ability to write a grammatical, stylistic, and mechanically correct essay
ability to document and list sources accurately
Your paper must be in an APA format
Not less than 1500 words (not including the cover and reference page)
Use Microsoft Word format, (12) point font, along with standard 1” margins, double-spaced
Free of Plagiarism
It must be grammatically correct and free of misspelled words or “typos.”
Carefully read your paper aloud before submission to find run-on sentences and grammatical errors.
Turn into Canvas in the drop box provided (no emailed submissions will be accepted)
Students must use at least (3) sources, and you may use your text as (1) of the resources if you use information from the textbook. Sources must be included on your reference page and cited in APA format. Papers should include at least (3) citations within the research paper.
