You will create a project management plan (PMP) based upon the business scenario and project proposal you developed and submitted at the end of Week 4. Your PMP should contain all of the artifacts indicated in the proposal, plus any additional artifacts you feel are necessary and helpful to fully illustrate your grasp of the tools you would use to manage the project you have proposed.
While the project management plan is from the perspective that the project takes place in the future, a few items (e.g., Change Log as a part of the Change Management Plan) should be created as though they occur during the project’s execution. Please don’t let this inconsistency hamper your work; do the plan from the perspective of the project happening in the future, then be flexible enough in the one or two areas where I’ve asked you to illustrate how something might look in the midst of the project execution.
The submitted project management plan should include an overarching narrative using Microsoft Word format. Some deliverables may be created using other tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to provide narratives, calculations, and visualizations in support of the Project Management Plan. It is also expected that you use ProjectLibre™ to create key artifacts such as a project schedule, network diagram of tasks, etc., that would be common to a well-managed project.
Your primary PMP document should tie everything together. For example, you will very likely refer to the project schedule and list of activities to be performed in your overall narrative but point to a ProjectLibre™ file that provides the details. All documents and files related to your PMP should be uploaded to this dropbox. Your final submission in Dropbox will likely contain multiple files.
Your project management plan must include the following:
Title page
Table of Contents
Project Charter
List of Project Activities
Resource Requirements Plan
Project Schedule
Risk Management Plan
Change Management Plan
Communication Management Plan
