SCENARIO:
You are dispatched to a residence to investigate an incident involving CSC (criminal sexual conduct) and financial exploitation of a female vulnerable adult (mentally disabled). Also present at the scene are the legal guardian to the victim and a representative from your county’s adult protection team.
Initially, you learn that the victim lives in an apartment by herself. For approximately six months, without the guardian’s knowledge, an unknown male has been visiting the victim approximately twice per month. He has been draining the victim’s checking account. He has been having consensual sexual relations with the victim, most recently, the previous night. This morning, the victim disclosed the events to her guardian. The guardian called law enforcement.
