April 23: QCC Spring Student Symposium
The Spring Student Symposium is an annual campus event where students from a variety of courses share the research projects they have been working on with their professors throughout the academic year. This symposium will include a series of short talks by students from disciplines ranging from English to Music to History to Chemistry.
By registering for the event, you will receive a copy of the program, which shows the different panels and speakers there will be throughout the day. You may choose to attend and write about one panel; or, you can write responses to several different panels for additional extra credit.

April 27: Just Mercy – Film Screening and Discussion
Just Mercy is a film based on the true story of Walter McMillan and his lawyer, Bryan Stevenson. In 1987, McMillan was wrongfully convicted of the murder of an 18-year-old girl, and Stevenson, a young Black lawyer, fought to have McMillan’s conviction overturned.
On April 27, there will be a campus-wide discussion about the film and the real-life story led by Criminal Justice professor Dr. Trevor Milton. Students who register for the discussion will be given free access to a link where they can stream the film at home any time between April 25 – April 26, in advance of the event.

April 29 – May 2: She Kills Monsters: A Virtual Performance by the Theatre Department
She Kills Monsters is a play written by Qui Nguyen. In this online performance, students from QCC’s theatre department will put on a production of the play directed by QCC faculty.
